Michael E. Atwell, 55, Huntington, died at 5:40 p.m. Wednesday,
June 24, 2009 at his home. 

He was born on Feb. 25, 1954 in Adrian, Mich., the son of Larry
Atwell and Wilma (Grubbs) Boone. Michael served in the Navy. He
then worked as a handyman for several years, was a former member
of the American Legion Post 85 and a member of the color guard. 

Survivors include his companion, Karen Bradley of Huntington;
two sons, James (Dorothlee) Atwell of Frankfort, Germany, and
William Gilbert of Adrian, Mich.; two daughters, April (Joe)
Biavarella of Niles, Ohio, and Joyce (Justin) Ely of Adrian,
Mich.; his father, Larry Atwell of Hudson, Mich.; four sisters,
Kathy (Chuck) Bogman of Adrian, Mich., Linda Guinn of Andrews,
Brenda (Ed) Hammac of Monroe, Mich., and Bonnie Henricks of
Andrews; one half brother, Benny Boone of Clayton, Mich.; one
step sister, Stacy Burns of Hudson, Mich.; two companion sons,
Jeff W. Bowers and Gary Lee Bowers both of Huntington; one
companion daughter, Amy Lynn Bowers of Huntington and six
grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother. 

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, June 29, 2009
at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington. There
will be a graveside funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Monday, June
29, 2009 at Hillcrest Cemetery, Huntington. Russell Buzzard will
officiate and the American Legion Post 85 will conduct military
graveside rites.
